Janus Decision Protest In Foley Square - 6/27/18

On June 27, 2018 union members from public and private sector unions around the City gathered in Foley Square in lower Manhattan to protest the Supreme Court's anti-union decision in the Janus v. AFSCME DC31 case which held that individuals who did not voluntarily sign a union membership card did not have to pay equivalent agency shop fees for the services provided by the union that represents their job title. The Court made all public sector employment essentially "right to work." About 500 union members and activists turned out, including OSA members and staff. These photos were taken by OSA Director of Media Services Rob Spencer (except for the photo of him at the end taken by Lainie Kitt)
