On February 23rd, the New York City Central Labor Council organized a press event on the steps of City Hall in support of public sector workers in Wisconsin who had been mobilizing throughout the state to fight back against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's plan to remove collective bargaining rights from civil servants in Wisconsin. OSA Executive Director Sheila Gorsky joined other union leaders, including Lillian Roberts of DC37, Arthur Cheliotes of CWA Local 1180, and Stuart Appelbaum of RWDSU/UFCw to denounce the Wisconsin Governor's actions and pledge that attacks on public workers will not be tolerated in our own backyard, whether from New Jersey Governor Christie or Mayor Bloomberg.
