The union held its September general membership meeting a little late, in October of 2023, due to a sudden rash of Covid cases in the union office. The meeting was held virtually on Zoom. Among the topics were expansion and improvement of the Welfare Fund's vision benefit to include a second network of vision care providers beginning in 2024, and the increase in the annual dental coverage limit from $4,000 to $5,000 per covered person, retroactive to July 1, 2023.

The collective bargaining update featured the news that the union has now filed for impasse against the City due to the Office of Management and Budget's intransigence in negotiations. OMB is attempting to force the union to pay for discretionary salary adjustments voluntarily made by various City agencies outside of the terms and scope of the last contract. Why should the union be forced to bear the financial responsibility for something the agencies chose to do without union agreement two years ago?
