JUNE 2024 VIRTUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING - June 25, 2024

The union held its May general membership meeting, a month late, on June 25, 2024, virtually on Zoom. The meeting featured presentations by OSA Chair Bob Croghan, Vice Chair Adam Orgel, Grievance Coordinator Chris Chan and Corresponding Secretary John Mazzarella on a variety of subjects, including the union's fight against a significant increase in the drug rider premium for those enrolled in the HIP HMO City health plan, the OSA Executive Board's decision to forego collection of dues from the retroactive payments members recently received for the 2021-2027 contract, details on the implementation of the main unit agreement (including remote work), ongoing negotiations outside of the main unit, the recent acceptance by our NYC Transit Authority members of their latest contract, recent improvements in the Tier 6 pension, and the entry into the OSA Welfare Fund of the independent union representing New York City Council employees, the Association of Legislative Employees (ALE). Questions and answers followed each presentation. The last item on the agenda was a presentation by NYCERS staffers about the Tier 4 and 6 pensions. That presentation was not recorded, at NYCERS request. However, below this video we have linked the pdf of the NYCERS powerpoint presentation.
