The union recently held a negotiating session on our non-economic agreement with the New York City Housing Authority. The meeting covered a good deal of ground and we anticipate further negotiating sessions later in the summer and during the fall.

Meanwhile, contract negotiations with NYC Health + Hospitals on behalf of our new members in that agency are due to resume in August.

Finally, the 2010 Staff Analyst list was recently extended by DCAS through July 11, 2017. However, we expect that, as soon as the 2015 Staff Analyst list is established, the earlier list will die. When that will happen is not yet clear. On this – and all other issues related to the exams for Staff, Associate and Administrative Staff Analyst given in 2015 – as soon as we have concrete information, it will be reported on the phone hotline and posted on this newsline page.

Happy Fourth of July.

There are negotiations this week with NYCHA and there will be New York City H+H negotiations as well, but no serious progress is expected this summer. The city slows down for July and August and this year appears to be no exception.

Even our grievance and organizing slows down in the summer since members, union staffers and volunteers take their breaks. Our union office is working on the summer mailing and that will keep us busy.
