News From OSA - January, 2007

This edition of News From OSA is brief because of the press of union business. Not only are we now concluding the Enrollment Sales Representatives collective bargaining election, we are also preparing for the Staff Analyst Trainee and Associate Staff Analyst training courses.

Negotiations. In negotiations, we are awaiting (impatiently) the City’s response to our contract demands. We will be taking action if this goes on much longer.

Welcome. OSA grew this month with the addition of the title NYCAPS Process Analyst. NYCAPS is the new citywide personnel system being created for N.Y.C. Welcome to our new brothers and sisters.

Executive Board Election. The biannual election was held in December, with none of the candidates choosing to mail out literature. As might be expected, this resulted in a very low return of mailed ballots. The only contested positions were for OSA Delegate at Large and the three incumbents were reelected. The Tally Committee will present the results in detail at this month’s membership meeting and the elected officers will be sworn in by union counsel.

General Membership Meeting. The next general membership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the union office, 220 East 23rd Street Suite 707 (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) starting at 6pm sharp. A flyer announcing the meeting can be downloaded here for posting and to remind yourself of the date and time.
