The Accounting Financial Statements. The statements can be downloaded by clicking here. Our accountant, Steve Schlapp of Schlapp, Gould and Kubick suggested that OSA follow the lead of other unions and present clear statements rather than the endless pages of repetitious numbers that had been traditional.

It is true that the financial statements are easier to read. If anyone would like to go over the old style presentation required by the G.A.A.P. standards, call Diana at the union office for those details.

Note: Transit Authority members are not covered by the OSA Welfare Fund.

Negotiations. There is not a great deal of news related to negotiations at present. The City has not yet responded to DC 37's suggestions of ways to fund the somewhat hypothetical extra one percent mentioned in the last contract. Health benefit negotiations are ongoing, Transit negotiations are concluding and we are awaiting the UFT settlement before starting School Safety and Traffic Enforcement negotiations.

Elections. One noteworthy event that did occur was the fact that the OSA and OSART officers were returned to office for another two (2) years. OSA/RT Chair Bob Croghan notes, "On behalf of those officers and myself as well, it should be said that we are both moved and honored to be given the chance to continue."

Thank You. Brother Croghan concludes: "I wish to personally thank the Agency Chapter Officers, local delegates, grievance reps and activists in general, as well as the OSA volunteers and staff. A union is very much a large family. I look forward to sharing the holiday with as many of my OSA brothers and sisters as can make it to the party."
