On July 5th, Teamsters Local 237 hosted a rally to protest the impact of federal budget cuts on the New York City Housing Authority and plans to build luxury housing on NYCHA property in key areas of the City as a means to generate operating funds for the agency. OSA and other unions joined in. A focus of the rally was encouraging NYCHA residents and workers to register to vote and see to it that the next city administration better addresses the administration of NYCHA in the face of ongoing reductions in federal funding for the agency.
