OSA Newsline -- Special Update For Patient Representatives

OSA has been working diligently for more than two years to gain the right to union representation for all of the Patient Representatives in the Health & Hospitals Corporation. Over that period, we have been regularly meeting with you and talking to members of your title series.

We are now fast approaching the dates of the election in which you will be able to chose a union to represent you. Ballot materials will be mailed to you by the Office of Collective Bargaining on October 24th. Voting will open, by phone or online, starting on October 29th and balloting will close at 2pm on November 9th. The ballots will be counted immediately afterwards.

We previously sent you emails and print materials and links to items on this website. We will continue that process. Meantime, we are putting links to all of our recent correspondence and materials below, in case you did not receive any specific item or would like to review it again at your leisure. Items are posted as pdf files or embedded video links.

As always, if you have questions, we are available to answer them. Call OSA Chair Bob Croghan at 212-686-1229 or lead campaign organizer Iris Bailey at 646-298-6335 or email her at ibailey@osaunion.org

The October 10th letter mentioned four short videos which OSA produced about three years ago during a representation election for the title of Senior Consultant (MIS). The videos feature OSA Chair Bob Croghan explaining the value of OSA's benefits as compared to those offered by DC37.

The first covers the union's vision and hearing benefits, the second explores the union's disability, death and survivors' benefits, the third examines the union's dental benefit and the fourth and final video talks about the OSA's superimposed major medical benefit. We encourage you to watch all four videos. We think they are informative.
