OSA Newsline - July 24, 2017

The union is completing the Summer mailing. One topic in the mailing is the upcoming vote on the New York State Constitutional Convention.

We are against it. It will cost a lot and could do harm. Details will be in the mailing.

We are also winding down the MaBSTOA collective bargaining campaign. Most now have voted and we urge any still outstanding to vote.

Counting will be on August 9th.

Therefore, our next newsline message will not be posted until August 10th.

OSA Newsline - July 10, 2017

Two bits of news. First, any MaBSTOA Analyst or Assistant Budget Chief who has not yet received a ballot must call PERB at 1-800-994-0110 on this Tuesday, July 11th, between 8:30am and 4:30pm. PERB will not honor any requests before or after that eight hour window.

Those who have received ballots must send them in early enough to reach PERB by 1pm on Tuesday, August 1st.

The second bit of news concerns our superior officers of Traffic Enforcement and School Security.

A retroactive raise payment is due to them towards the end of this month. The amount will differ in almost all cases from an earlier payment. In most cases, the differences will be a little bit more or a little bit less, but hardly noticeable. In two cases, it will be a lot of money and the union will call those members in advance.

The problem stems from minor errors made by payroll in calculating the retro payment from the old 4%+4% raise contract denied by Bloomberg. That man’s spiteful behavior in his last term continues to annoy us.

Please check back in two weeks - Summer schedule.
